Volunteers needed
We/I need help!
Polypartisan is a brand new project; in fact, as I write this, I’m the only volunteer. That means there’s a lot of opportunity to help.
At the initial phase, I need people to help me with the following tasks and services:
- Logo design
- Web hosting
- Web design
- Researching compatible political parties
- Identifying suitable districts
- Contacting representatives of parties
- Spreading word about the project
- At least one attorney to keep me in line with applicable laws right now, and to defend against attacks later
- A better writer than myself to present the arguments of the campaign
- One or more fellow organizers to coordinate the entire project
- Some donors to finance costs such as web hosting, postage and paper, and telephone calls
Basically, at this point I need everything. I believe that this organization will qualify as a Political Action Committee once it is properly organized, so there will be many laws to comply with. What is being attempted here is very against the grain, so I/we will face attacks from many individuals and organizations.
But the payoff could be huge. Consider the impact. Breaking the power duopoly of the two major parties can result in many unfair laws being prevented or repealed, and many sensible laws finally being passed. Not only that, but you will be able to help elect a candidate who more closely represents your own views than any major party candidate. If that’s not enough, then consider how cool it would be to tell people you’ve helped run a campaign that did something nobody had ever done before.
Finally, the first round of volunteers will get their own @polypartisan.org emails, such as james@polypartisan.org. A first name only email address! If that doesn’t entice you…
To volunteer, contact me, James Ratchford, by email at jayratch@mac.com. At this time, I am not accepting email at polypartisan.org but we will get that set up once we have a few volunteers to handle the domain’s email.
